Water You Can Eat!

About Me
We hear it all the time to be sure and drink enough water. Hydration is very important for your health. Being dehydrated can cause drowsiness, headaches, muscle cramps, low blood pressure, rapid heart rate and skin problems. What can be dangerous is ongoing dehydration that can lead to more serious health issues.
Drinking approximately 7-8 8oz glasses of water per day is suggested to maintain healthy hydration throughout your day. We may start out with good intent possibly carrying our water bottles around with us. Once our day takes a hold we get busy, possibly distracted and by the time our evening rolls around we realize that we didn't drink as much as we should have. Sound familiar?
Well the good news is that you don't have to drink all the water your body needs. In fact drinking too much water can result in your body flushing out healthy vitamins and minerals.
Did you know that you can eat it too? Research has shown that by eating foods that contain high levels of water, you can stay hydrated longer as your body takes the time to digest the food and absorb the water. You can also benefit from the nutrients that are contained in the food.
Drinking your water doesn't ensure that your cells are absorbing it. Plant based fruits and vegtables on the other hand have molecules that can help the water get absorbed easier. These foods can hydrate the body for longer periods of time because the water contained in them takes longer to break down.
Does that mean we should eat our water as opposed to drinking it? Research has suggested we do a combination of both.
So what foods have a high concentration of water?
Cantaloupe, pineapple, watermelon, strawberries and oranges are delicious & nutritious fruits high in water content.

About Me
My passion about health started in my teens when I first hand saw the effects of how illness can wreck havoc in a family growing up with parents who had serious health issues. I too struggled with losing weight & developed an eating disorder that I was able to heal by educating myself on healthier habits. It’s amazing what our bodies can do when we learn to take care of them like God intended. These experiences & challenges fueled my passion to be a life long student in pursuit of learning how to create healthier lifestyles where one can thrive at their optimal best. As a mother of 3 children & a wife of a traveling husband, I quickly learned how to implement healthy habits on the go so that I could be my healthy best for my family. This has evolved into my health coaching business Thriving With Health where I coach people to integrate simple & fun healthy 'bites’ throughout their day even on their most busiest & challenging ones. You are never too busy to take care of your health & I can show you how. Everyone has busy lifestyles and living at their optimum best is not only doable but can be fun as well!
