How to Stay Jolly During the Holidays!
Jolly Holiday Day 1
Welcome to my 7 day series on 'How to Stay Jolly During the Holidays'. Today on TWH's FB live we focused on the first letter in holiday 'H' for 'Humor' & 'Happiness'. Try sharing funny stories around the holiday season with family & friends and enjoy connecting through humor. Bet you will learn new things about people you thought you knew well know in surprising ways!
We also touched on being grateful and how that can chase unhappiness away immediately & encourage positive thoughts. Research has proven that when you focus on being grateful, your brain chemistry can change to positive & happier thinking.
Holiday Recipe
Here is a Holiday that starts with an 'H' that is super easy and is a great appetizer that you can literally take a bite of! Not only is it delicious it's pretty & festive too.
~ Homemade Hummus ~
We have a family member who is allergic to tahini which is usually a main ingredient found in hummus. This led me to explore other options and I was pleased to find and create simple and just as delicious alternatives that you can whip up in minutes! They taste so much fresher than the store bought varieties and you can custom make them just the way you want. So have fun creating your own using your favorite spices & garnishes!

H is For Hamstrings
What better exercise for your hamstrings than walking especially during the busy holidays shopping & running errands. So instead of getting overwhelmed about getting your ongoing 'To Do' list checked off, use this time to focus on walking everywhere you can and enjoy getting out and moving your body, Walking is not only great for your hamstings, it's amazing for your entire body and mind. Just getting up & moving after sitting longer than an hour will do wonders for your mood and your body. If you are sitting for long periods of time aim to get up every hour and walk for 5 minutes. This can add up to 20-30 minutes of walking doing this spread out throughout your busy day & notice how much better you feel and think too:-)
If you can't fit walking into your day maybe you could go to bed earlier and take your pup out for an early morning brisk walk or right when you get home grab their leash and stroll the neighborhood and enjoy the pretty Holiday lights! Better yet grab a family member or invite a friend to join you and start a new healthy & refreshing habit.
Pups need daily walks and so do you, your family & friends🐾

About Me
My passion about health started in my teens when I first hand saw the effects of how illness can wreck havoc in a family growing up with parents who had serious health issues. I too struggled with losing weight & developed an eating disorder that I was able to heal by educating myself on healthier habits. It’s amazing what our bodies can do when we learn to take care of them like God intended. These experiences & challenges fueled my passion to be a life long student in pursuit of learning how to create healthier lifestyles where one can thrive at their optimal best. As a mother of 3 children & a wife of a traveling husband, I quickly learned how to implement healthy habits on the go so that I could be my healthy best for my family. This has evolved into my health coaching business Thriving With Health where I coach people to integrate simple & fun healthy 'bites’ throughout their day even on their most busiest & challenging ones. You are never too busy to take care of your health & I can show you how. Everyone has busy lifestyles and living at their optimum best is not only doable but can be fun as well!
