The 4th of July is here and what a great time on Independence Day to make some tasty food to serve that is delicious & nutritious. Guacamole can be just that kind of food to help celebrate and it's a great way to use up your ripe avocados too🥑
If you've been watching my Face Book Thriving With Health food demo live series, we've been exploring all the different simple and flavorful ways that you can use your ripe avocados before they turn brown.
We made a creamy avocado dressing, a chocolate avocado pudding that is absolutely yummy, chocolate avocado fudgesickles that are perfect for those hot summer days and of course we couldn't leave out the guacamole🥑 This is a healthy and yummy treat to serve on the day we celebrate our great nation's independence🇺🇸

Guacamole
Prep: 10 minutes
Servings: 8-10
*Ingredients:
2 large or 3 medium ripe avocados halved and pitted (hold onto the pits if not serving immediately)
1/3 cup red onion chopped
2 medium tomatoes chopped
2 cloves garlic finely minced
2 Tablespoons cilantro chopped
3 Tablespoons lime juice (about 2 small limes)
*Note: Could substitute lemon if preferred or combine
Salt to taste
Optional Spicer Version:
1 jalapeno seeded and finely minced
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Dash of Cayenne
*Please use organic when available
Directions:
Place avocado into a bowl wide enough to mash in. Mash lightly with a masher or fork keeping it somewhat chunky. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix until blended.
Serve with your favorite chips & veggies or use as a spread on bread or rice crackers. This is yummy on a salad too as a chunkier salad dressing🙂
