Easy, Delicious and Healthy Holiday Dusted Fudge Treats❣️
These delicious treats are guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth without any possible harmful ingredients such as food enhancers that can lead to overeating!
It's amazing when you eat real food, meaning free of processed chemicals, that your brain and your taste buds are not tempted to overeat. Our bodies naturally know and recognize when we've had enough when we're eating real food vs fake aka overly processed frankenfood!
These treats are super easy and they have only three main ingredients with some additional tasty options.
This is a super fun recipe to make with your kids and also your guests. It's a bit messy but that's what makes it so much fun!
❤️Healthy bites can be yummy and creative too.
Thriving With Health likes to utilize food prep as an opportunity to teach everyone in your family and your guests how to prepare healthy food and to be creative making your very own masterpieces🎨
Dates are one of the main ingredients and they are a much healthier choice to use as a sweetener. They are high in several nutrients, fiber and antioxidants too. Dates can promote brain health and they contain phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium which can promote strong bone health. Dates have the potential to help regulate sugar better than other sweeteners because of their low glycemic index.
A nut butter of your choice is the second main ingredient and make sure that you use an unsweetened one. The dates provide all the delicious sweetness that these treats need! They are pretty rich so tiny bites go a long way in satisfying your sweet tooth and your chocolate cravings😋
Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator where they can last up to a week or two if they're not gobbled up before😋
A yummy creation is about to begin❣️

Healthy Holiday Dusted Fudge Treats❣️
Prep: 10 minutes
Soaking dates: 10-20 minutes
Yield: 24 balls approximately
Ingredients*
1 cup dates pits removed
Note: If your dates are pretty hard and time permits you can soak them in hot water for 10-20 minutes to soften them up and they will be easier to remove the pits and they will blend easier.
1 cup unsweetened almond, cashew or peanut butter
3/4-1 cup unsweetened Cocoa, Cacao or Carob powder*
*Cocoa powder for some is considered more tasteful compared to cacao powder although cacao contains more nutrients because it's beans are heated at a lower temperature and considered raw. Some think cocoa has a sweeter taste and cacao more bitter. Experiment and find out which one you prefer.
🚩NOTE: Be sure your cocoa powder is dairy free as dairy can negate the nutritional benefits.
1/4+ cup dehydrated finely shredded coconut for dusting
Optional
1+ Tablespoon Espresso to taste
Note: A little can go a big way❣️
Directions
Add pitted dates presoaked if needed into your food processor and blend until it's a smooth paste.
Add the next 2 ingredients and process until well blended adding more cocoa powder as needed to reduce stickiness or add a little bit of water or coconut/nut butter oil if not sticky enough. It will depend on how much oil is in your nut butter. Dough should be fudgy but not too sticky and it should be firm enough to form into balls.
Form the dough into golf ball size balls rolling pieces of dough between your hands.
Roll each ball into dry shredded coconut making sure to coat them evely all the way around, pressing lightly as you go. Kids love to help with this part😋
A little bit of espresso added in is so delicious ~ a marriage made in heaven❣️
These fudge bites can last up to several weeks in the refrigerator stored in an airtight container.
Since they contain only clean ingredients without any processed chemicals, you will be surprised at how just one or two of these delicious treats can satisfy your sweet tooth. You also don't want to leave them out at room temperature too long since they are free from preservatives.
They pair well with nut milk, tea or coffee☕️
Very tasty just as they are with/without coconut dusting!
dust with dehydrated finely shredded coconut❣️

About Me
My passion about health started in my teens when I first hand saw the effects of how illness can wreck havoc in a family growing up with parents who had serious health issues. I too struggled with losing weight & developed an eating disorder that I was able to heal by educating myself on healthier habits. It’s amazing what our bodies can do when we learn to take care of them like God intended. These experiences & challenges fueled my passion to be a life long student in pursuit of learning how to create healthier lifestyles where one can thrive at their optimal best. As a mother of 3 children & a wife of a traveling husband, I quickly learned how to implement healthy habits on the go so that I could be my healthy best for my family. This has evolved into my health coaching business Thriving With Health where I coach people to integrate simple & fun healthy 'bites’ throughout their day even on their most busiest & challenging ones. You are never too busy to take care of your health & I can show you how. Everyone has busy lifestyles and living at their optimum best is not only doable but can be fun as well!
