Dairy Free Banana Ice Cream

This delicious dairy free ice cream is super easy to make. There is only one ingredient and that is frozen bananas. A creamy and sweet alternative that is great to mix with nut butters, chocolate, fresh or dried fruit, shredded coconut, cinnamon or whatever suits your fancy! Ice Cream can be immediately eaten soft serve style or put back in the freezer for about 30 minutes up to an hour to firm it up. Have fun with this and invite your kids, family & friends to make their own tasty masterpieces!

 A healthy summer snack that is yummy, easy and it can be a creative project too! 

 

 

 

 

 

Banana Ice Cream*

*Please use organic ingredients when available

Time:

5 minutes/prep  

2 hours/freeze

5 minutes/mix

Servings: 4 approximately 1 cup each

Ingredients

6-8 ripe bananas

Nut milk or water for thinning as needed

Optional

1/2 cup nut butter

1/4 tsp vanilla

Dash cinnamon

1 1/4+ cup berries if mixing with bananas

Toppings

Chocolate chips, nibs or syrup

Fresh or dehydrated fruit

Shredded Coconut

Nuts

Seeds

Directions

Peel and cut bananas into 1/2 inch slices and freeze in an air tight container or BPA free zip lock baggie for up to 2 hours or until frozen. 

Place about 1/3 of the frozen bananas into your food processor or blender at a time and begin to pulse adding more bananas as they begin to break up and mix. Continue processing stopping to scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula and adding a few drops of nut milk or water as needed to blend. Add your favorite ingredients, mix together and serve immediately soft serve style or you can put it back in the freezer for 30 minutes up to an hour for firmer ice cream.
