Easy, Delicious and Healthy Chocolate Fudgy Treats
Very yummy dusted with dehydrated coconut😋
These healthy and delicious Chocolate Fudgy Treats are guaranteed to satisfy your sweetest tooth! They are super easy to make and they have only 3 main ingredients with some additional tasty options. This is a fun recipe to make with your kids and also your guests. It is a bit messy but that's what makes it so much fun! Healthy meals can be yummy and creative too. Thriving With Health likes to refer to food prep as an opportunity to learn how to make healthy food and to be creative making your own masterpieces🎨
Dates are one of the main ingredients and they are an excellent and healthier choice to use as a sweetner. They are high in several nutrients, fiber and antioxidants too. They may promote brain health and they contain phosphorous, potassium, calcium and magnesium so they may also promote strong bone health. Dates have the potential to help regulate sugar better than some other sweetners because of their low glycemic index.
A nut butter of your choice is the second main ingredient and make sure that you use an unsweetened one. The dates provide all the delicious sweetness that these treats need!
Storing them in an airtight container in the refrigerator, they can last up to several weeks if they're not gobbled up before!
A yummy creation is about to begin!

Healthy Chocolate Fudgy Treats
Prep: 10 minutes
Soaking dates 10-20 minutes
Yield: 24 balls approximately
Ingredients*
1 cup dates pits removed
Note: If your dates are pretty hard and time permits you can soak them in hot water for 10-20 minutes to soften them up and they will be easier to remove the pits and they will blend easier.
1 cup unsweetened almond, cashew or peanut butter
3/4-1 cup unsweetened Cocoa, Cacao or Carob powder. Cocoa powder for some is more tasteful compared to Cacao or Carob powder although the latter two contain more nutrients. Experiment and find out which one you prefer.
Optional
1/4+ cup dehydrated finely shredded coconut for dusting
1-2 Tablespoons Expresso to taste
Directions
Add pitted dates presoaked if needed into your food processor and blend until a smooth paste. Add the next 2 ingredients and process until well blended adding more cocoa powder as needed to reduce stickiness or a little bit of water or nut butter oil if not sticky enough. It will depend on how much oil is in your nut butter. Dough should be fudgy but not too sticky and it should be firm enough to form into balls.
Make into desired ball size and they are ready to eat.
Optional Directions
Dust or roll the balls with finely shredded dehydrated coconut for added flavor😋
A little bit of expresso added in is a yummy option to create a chocolate and coffee flavorful treat!
These can last up to several weeks in the refrigerator stored in an airtight container.
Since they contain only clean ingredients without any processed chemicals, you will be surprised at how just one or two of these delicious treats can satisfy your sweet tooth🙂
They pair well with nut milk, tea or coffee☕️
Very tasty as they are!
Dusted with dehydrated finely shredded coconut for a delicious version!

About Me
My passion about health started in my teens when I first hand saw the effects of how illness can wreck havoc in a family growing up with parents who had serious health issues. I too struggled with losing weight & developed an eating disorder that I was able to heal by educating myself on healthier habits. It’s amazing what our bodies can do when we learn to take care of them like God intended. These experiences & challenges fueled my passion to be a life long student in pursuit of learning how to create healthier lifestyles where one can thrive at their optimal best. As a mother of 3 children & a wife of a traveling husband, I quickly learned how to implement healthy habits on the go so that I could be my healthy best for my family. This has evolved into my health coaching business Thriving With Health where I coach people to integrate simple & fun healthy 'bites’ throughout their day even on their most busiest & challenging ones. You are never too busy to take care of your health & I can show you how. Everyone has busy lifestyles and living at their optimum best is not only doable but can be fun as well!
