Do you know anyone who doesn't like ice cream? I sure haven't come across anyone but I do have friends and clients who cannot eat dairy so that could be a problem that can easily be solved. Just the kind of challenge Thriving With Health likes to figure out and resolve😊
Banana ice cream is simple, delicious and nourishing too. Yep ice cream that is healthy without any added ingredients that might be harmful. This ice cream is so super simple it can be categorized under TWH's favorite motto 'Keep It Super Simple' aka KISS. If a recipe has Thriving With Health's KISS of approval that means this recipe is not only delicious, it's nutritious too!
Bananas are the main ingredient and a little nut milk or water to thin when preparing.
If you want to add more nutrients add a scoop of your favorite protein powder and you can add a little nut milk if your ice cream is too thick. You could even serve this option for breakfast! A win win with your kiddos😋
Freeze sliced bananas that are ripe but have not turned completely brown and cut out any brown spots. If you use bananas that aren't ripe or are too ripe the flavor will be compromised.
Cut the banana in slices approximately one inch in diameter, store in a BPA free freezer zip lock baggie or an airtight container and store in the freezer.
Once the banana slices are frozen (about 2+ hours) put them into your food processor or blender and process/blend until it has reached a soft serve consistency while scraping the sides of the work bowl or blender.
You can add a few drops of unsweetened almond or coconut milk to thin as needed.
Ice cream is ready to serve soft style or you can put it back in the freezer for firmer ice cream.
*Experiment adding a tablespoon or two of peanut, almond or cashew butter mixing it together with the banana ice cream and top with your favorite sprinkles.
BANANA & PEANUT BUTTER ICE CREAM WITH CHOCOLATE CHIPS
*Chocolate syrup drizzled over the top or mixed in and you can make your own Ice Cream Sundae version that is so delicious you would think you're overindulging!
Eating clean wholesome food that you can love that can love you back too is satisfying, nutritious and you aren't triggered to overeat because there aren't any chemicals that trigger eating too much🎉
BANANA ICE CREAM SUNDAE
Banana Nice Ice Cream
PREP 5 minutes (2+ hours to freeze)
SERVINGS 2
INGREDIENTS*
2 ripe bananas peeled, sliced and frozen
Nut milk to thin if too thick
Optional
Scoop of protein powder to add more nutrients
DIRECTIONS
Peel, slice and store bananas in a BPA free ziplock baggie or airtight container in your freezer. Once frozen add banana slices into your food processor or blender and mix until smooth, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed to blend. You can add a tiny bit of nut milk or water to help thin the mixture if too thick. Mix in any optional ingredients and serve soft or for firmer ice cream put it back in the freezer for approximately 1 hour.

Peanut, almond or cashew butter
Fresh or dehydrated fruit
Shredded coconut
NUTS
Almonds, cashews, peanuts, walnuts or your favorite chopped
SEEDS
Chia, hemp, pumpkin, sunflower or favorite
FLAVOR BOOST
Drizzle of chocolate, strawberry, raspberry or maple syrup
Bit of honey
Dash of vanilla
Sprinkle of cinnamon, cardamon, pumpkin spice or your favorite spice
*Please use organic ingredients when available
STEP 1 ~ Slice and freeze bananas
STEP 2 ~ Process until well blended and creamy
STEP 3 ~ Ice cream is ready to serve with favorite mixings, toppings and spices😊
