What better way to welcome in the new year with a delicious beverage that is tasty, nutritious and detoxifying too!
It's easily prepared with fresh lemon juice, ginger and filtered water. Mint leaves can be added to enhance the flavor and they contain additional health benefits too. You can serve this hot or cold. Want a sweeter taste? No problem just add a little honey or stevia. Honey and mint when added together can help ease an upset stomach and this can relieve morning sickness during pregnancy.
Another healthy option is adding a dash of Cayenne pepper that can further enhance detoxifying capabilities. Just a little bit can go a long way in added benefits without making it too spicy.
A dash of cinnamon is another delicious option that contains antioxidants and gives a whole different spin in flavor.
To save time you can make it ahead and store in your refrigerator so that you have it on hand during those busy grab and go days. Lemon ginger water can last up to 1 week stored in an airtight container. Time: 5+ minutes
*Servings: 1
Beverages
Ingredients
1 cup of hot water
1/2 lemon juice (1 tbsp approximately)
1/2 lemon thinly sliced
1 tsp freshly grated ginger or a tip of your index finger peeled and chopped
Optional
several mint leaves
2+ tsps honey or several drops of stevia
dash of cayenne pepper or cinnamon for a different taste!
Directions
Boil water in your kettle
Pour in your cup and add grated or chopped ginger and lemon juice and let it seep for 5+ minutes.
You can strain the tea if you prefer or leave the ginger for a stronger taste.
Add lemon slices, optional mint leaves and honey if desired. Note if drinking for detoxing, leave out the honey or stevia.
If a cold tea is desired pour over ice.

*I like to make a concentrate of tea that I can just add water and grab and go. This is a delicious way to stay hydrated and motivate you to keep your water bottles filled with refreshing water ready to drink💫
Lemon Ginger Tea Concentrate
In a 16 oz mason jar or container of choice ~
Ingredients
2 large lemons
1/2+ lemon thinly sliced
2 knobs peeled ginger and grated or chopped
16 ozs water
Directions
Squeeze the lemons into your blender
Add 16 ozs of water, ginger and sweetner/dash of cayenne pepper if desired.
Blend on high for about 1 minute.
Strain if desired (totally up to you but leaving the ginger in adds more flavor)
Note: Tea strainers work great with straining the pup, seeds & ginger peel!
Add lemon slices
Mix 1/2 cup concentrate to 1/2 cup water and add mint leaves after blended
Store in refrigerator for up to 1 week
Prep
Prep with Options ~ mint leaves, dash of cayenne pepper or cinnamon for added health benefits and different flavors
Step 1 ~ Add boiling water to your cup and add grated or chopped ginger pieces
Step 2 ~ Add lemon juice and lemon slices
Step 3 ~ add desired optional ingredients mint leaves, honey, cayenne pepper or cinnamon
