Lemon Ginger Water!
A great way to boost your health and jumpstart your day every day when you wake up is to drink a glass of water with lemon and ginger. You can easily prepare this recipe the day or night before. You can make a concentrate to make more and to save room in your refrigerator. Simply add more water when you're ready to drink. This water recipe is not only hydrating but it is a nutritious and a delicious way to drink your water throughout your day.
Do you forget to drink more water during the day? I do too so it's a great idea to set timers on your device(s) to remind you to drink up!
This recipe is for 8 cups and you can experiment with how much lemon juice and ginger you would like to add based on your and your family's preferences. You can add a dash of cayenne or turmeric for flavor and additional health benefits that can help reduce inflammation and reduce pain. The lemons are a great source of Vitamin C and together with the ginger they both contain antioxidants that can boost your immunity and help you to be resistant to both colds and the flu. They can help you recover faster too. We like to store ours in mason jars and they will last several days in your refrigerator depending on how fresh your lemons are.
Note: To save time it's not necessary to peel your ginger. The skin is actually edible and some chefs are known to use them in their broths and sauces to add a stronger ginger flavor. You can pour your water through a strainer to easily and quickly remove the skin after blending. So no stress having to tediously peel your ginger in this recipe!
Lemon Ginger Water
Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 8
Ingredients
8 cups purified water
2 lemons juiced
1-2 knobs fresh ginger
Optional
Dash cayenne pepper
Dash turmeric
Directions
*Add the ingredients to your blender and blend on high speed.
*Pour water through a strainer and store in air tight containers.
*Delicious and refreshing served cold over ice or you can serve it warm on colder days.
All you need ~ lemon juice and some fresh ginger to add to your water in your blender.
Blend until ginger completely blended and mixture is frothy.
Simply strain the ginger skin and any left over lemon pulp out and your nutritious and delicious lemon ginger water is ready to serve or to store!
