AMERICAN FLAG BERRY & BANANA FRUIT KABOBS
Nothing is more fun on the 4th of July than spending time celebrating with family and friends eating delicious food. Why not get the crowd on board to make 'American Flag Berry & Banana Fruit Kabobs' together! This Independence Day treat is patriotic, delicious and so very good for you! They also make a beautiful & edible centerpiece to decorate your table with too! This could be the start of a very fun traditional family activity for future 4th of July celebrations❤️
Berries are in season and plentiful this time of year which makes them the perfect delicious choice to create your flag kabobs together with the bananas.
Ingredients
*1 pint of rinsed bluberries
*5 bananas cut into 1 inch pieces
*1-2 lbs rinsed strawberries ~ about 20 - 30 strawberries depending on their size and if you cut them in halves, 3rds, or 4ths. You want your slices to be similar in size to the bananas.
*1 1/2-2 Tbsps lemon juice (1 medium size lemon)
*10 wooden skewers 12" in length
Directions
*Remove the stems from the strawberries and cut the strawberries and bananas as directed above into desired similar sizes.
*Dip the banana slices in lemon juice to keep them from turning brown.
*Starting with the pointed end begin spearing aproximately 10-12 blueberries on 5 skewers.
*Add a banana slice followed by a strawberry slice, and repeat once more with the final slice of strawberry filing the bluebery skewer. Repeat this process with the remaining 4 blueberry skewers and place them side by side on a plate as shown above.
*Spear the remaining 5 skewers starting with the strawberry slice, followed by the banana slice 4 times and topping the last banana slice with a slice of strawberry. Arrange in rows next to the blueberry skewers and your American Flag is ready to be shown off and enjoyed❤️
