Have you ever really looked at the ingredients in your pup’s treats?

I remember feeling shocked when I realized that even some of the organic treats we were buying contained processed ingredients that could be harmful.

Just like us…
what they eat matters.

If you see:

  • More than 5 ingredients
  • Words you can’t pronounce
  • Or “natural flavors” (which can include dozens of unknown ingredients)

…it might be time to gently put that bag back on the shelf.

The Simple Shift 🐾

Making your own treats is:

  • So simple
  • So much healthier
  • And honestly… so fun

It’s also a beautiful way to get your kids and grandkids involved 💛

And once you start… you may never go back.

🐾 Healthy Pumpkin Apple Pup Biscuits


⏱ Prep: 20 minutes

🔥 Bake: 20–25 minutes

🌡 Oven: 350°F

🌿 Ingredients:

  • 3 ½ cups oatmeal (blended into flour)
    (keep ~¼ cup aside for rolling)

OR shortcut option:
Use whole oats and skip rolling—just scoop & flatten

  • ¾+ cup pumpkin puree (start small and add as needed)
  • 1 medium apple (grated) or ½ cup applesauce

✨ Optional “Fresh Breath” Add-Ins:

  • 1 tsp cinnamon (if tolerated)
  • ¼ cup finely minced parsley

🥣 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Blend oats into flour (or use whole oats for shortcut version)
  3. Mix pumpkin + apple/applesauce
  4. Add oat flour and combine until dough forms
  5. Add optional cinnamon/parsley if using
  6. Knead gently (3–4 times) until dough is firm but not sticky
  7. Roll out to about ¼ inch thick
  8. Cut into fun shapes 🐶
  9. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet
  10. Bake 20–25 minutes

Tip:
Turn off oven and let treats sit inside for ~30 minutes if you want them firmer
